The word photography means to “write with light”. I have been traveling our beautiful world for the last 40 years seeking moments and framing fleeting glimpses of this amazing life that I believe to be compelling, interesting, soothing, thought provoking and even healing. I am a LIGHT WRITER if you will? A craftsperson, an artist with a purpose and a human being seeking best practices to leave a better world for our future generations. Thank you for allowing me to share my work with you and for taking your time to visit and purchase and share my life's work.
I studied Mass Communications/Photography at Texas State University. For three years I worked at the University Star as a staff photographer spending hours, and many late nights, getting the alchemy in the dark room just right and spending most days honing my skills as a storyteller and composer. I won a collegiate award for an image I shot on assignment and thought I might have a chance at making a living at this craft that I loved. After graduation and 6 years of apprenticing, scouting and producing for some of the best photographers in the world, I set out on my own and ended up in the world of renewable energy, regenerative agriculture and telling hopeful stories about better ways for us to live on our Earth.
I live my Carpe Diem lifestyle with an incomparable vigor, both behind and in front of the camera and in my personal life. I travel the world working with some of the biggest and best organizations, agencies, and talent throughout the world. While successfully navigating big brand advertising with an editorial style, I maintain an unwavering commitment to capturing pertinent moments in time and creating organic life-as-art narratives that illustrate powerful stories that move us forward in a more sustainable fashion.
Wood E Works is a collection of my “personal work” that spans the last 35 years or more. The “Guadalupe River” project is a labor of love and a personal dance with a river that runs through my veins and is alive in my heart. I live by it, on it and in it and I'm convinced, beyond a doubt, that protection of this watershed and others like it is paramount to our collective future. “Limited Edition” works are mostly shot on film and are the result of painstaking logistics of shooting with heavy equipment and finicky film the while keeping it all dry and cool and mechanically functioning. All limited editions are super high resolution and are of the highest quality materials and the print management techniques are the best money can buy. “Impressionism” will give you a hint of the artists that I love and have studied through the years. “Drive By Shooter” brings you along with me for the 1000’s a miles I have driven around our amazing country capturing moments, sometimes at or above the speed limit, hanging out the window while steering with my leg. In “Fine Art” you will find some of my all time favorite moments. “Texas” is in my blood as I was born and raised Texan so this work is a reflection of one True Texan's perspective.
For many years we have been curating this collection and will be adding to it often so please stay tuned and engage in our process. We love your feedback and thrive off your love of photography and I thank you for taking a moment to see our beautiful world through my lens', with my optics if you will. My team and I are available for consulting, commissions, speaking engagements, custom curated projects, true custom rare wood framing and mounting, hanging & installation and pretty much anything that involves great photography, permaculture design, film making and everything that has to do with protecting our water and ecology. I tell stories through a lens of authenticity, empathy and inspired passion that comes from my heart. Let us know what you think.
